How to Send PRRB Appeal Documents to FSS

Please send PRRB Appeals-related correspondence to intermediary@fssappeals.com.

Effective September 15, 2015, correspondence to the ASC must be sent to Federal Specialized Services (FSS) as described on this page.  

In accordance with PRRB instruction 27.6 H, regarding confidential information, please do not send any protected health information (PHI) or personally identifiable information (PII). Files containing PHI or PII will be returned to the sender.  

All appeals-related correspondence should be sent to FSS electronically. This includes appeal requests, position papers, jurisdictional challenges and responses, and all other case-related correspondence. Paper copies are unnecessary. 

It is essential to reference the case to which the correspondence relates. In the email subject line, reference the case number first, followed by the case name, followed by the type of correspondence. New cases for which a case number has not yet been assigned should include the provider number, fiscal year end, and type of correspondence. See the following examples: 

PRRB has assigned case number:

  Subject: PRRB Case No. 15-1234; General Hospital; Provider Preliminary Position Paper 

FSS has assigned case number

  Subject: Contractor Appeal Case No. 151234; General Hospital; Provider Preliminary Position Paper 

Group appeal request, use proposed case name and fiscal year if not in the name

  Subject: XYZ Representative Health System 2012 Bad Debts Group; Group Appeal Request 

PRRB has not yet assigned case number; FSS has not assigned Contractor Appeal case number

  Subject: Provider No. 00-5678; 6/30/2014; Appeal Request
